    Working Principle

    Gasoline filter: For carburetor-type gasoline engines, the gasoline output from the fuel pump enters the housing through the oil pipe, is filtered through the filter element, enters the filter element cavity, and then is delivered to the carburetor through the outlet pipe. For electronic fuel injection engines, gasoline is drawn from the fuel tank by the fuel pump and pressurized to approximately 0.3 MPa, then passes through the filter to remove impurities and water, and is sent to the fuel distribution pipe, then injected into the intake pipe by the injector; excess fuel is returned to the fuel tank through the return pipe.

    Diesel filter: Diesel fuel first enters the diesel water separator, where water is separated using sedimentation and filtration, then it passes through the diesel fine filter to remove small particles, providing clean diesel fuel for the engine.

    Structural Components

    Housing: Usually made of aluminum alloy, iron, or plastic, it protects the internal filter element and other components. The material and shape of the housing vary depending on the type of fuel filter.

    Filter element: This is the core component of the fuel filter, primarily used to filter impurities from the fuel. Common filter element materials include paper, chemical fiber, ceramic, and stainless steel. Filter elements of different materials differ in filtration efficiency and service life.

    Inlet and outlet: Used to connect the fuel lines, allowing fuel to smoothly enter the filter for filtration and delivering the filtered fuel to the engine or other components.

    Other components: May also include sealing gaskets, springs, dust covers, and settling cups. Sealing gaskets prevent fuel leakage, springs secure the filter element, dust covers prevent dust and other impurities from entering the filter, and settling cups collect water and heavier impurities from the fuel.
